Bruce Bowman has a forty year career in civil engineering, transport and waste related industries working in his own businesses as well as local and national companies across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Bruce is a Civil Engineer with post graduate qualifications in Applied Science. Bruce’s experience in the fields of raw materials production, concrete manufacture, civil engineering, landfill construction and road transport compliment his operational management background.

Bruce is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia as a Chartered Professional Engineer (1168382), registered with the National Professional Engineers Register and a member of the Environmental Engineering Society.

What Bruce is working on…

Bruce regularly provides expert advice on the environmental approvals process to a variety of government and private clients. As Managing Director of Bowman & Associates Bruce directs the development of the business and its employees, ensuring the solutions we deliver represent industry best practice, modern developments in engineering technology and practical common sense.

Bruce is currently working on project strategies in the fields of landfill, compost, C&D recycling and energy from waste. Bruce uses his project management skills to assist clients with a variety of tender packages and tender reviews, oversees Superintendent and construction quality assurance engagements for waste facility construction, provides expert guidance on waste facility development and strategic long term waste management to a variety of clients.

When he isn’t being an Engineer…

Bruce is an avid cyclist, triathlete and outdoorsman. In March 2016 Bruce rode his bicycle unassisted from Melbourne to Perth raising $21,000 for the charity beyondblue.

Aaron O’Malley

About Aaron…

Aaron joined the company in October 2014 as a Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Waste Consultant to provide senior leadership and strengthen our core services in environmental engineering and broaden our services into the geotechnical engineering area.  He brings with him more than 17 years’ professional experience working for large international geotechnical, design and environmental engineering consultancies. His experience includes 7 years of senior management leading professional geotechnical, construction and design engineering teams across the regions of Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science (Environmental), Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours (Geotechnical) from the University of South Australia (UniSA) and is currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy, PhD in Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering from UniSA.

Aaron has extensive experience in project management and technical direction of geotechnical and waste containment construction projects, in key aspects of the project from civil design implementation, to development of technical specifications and drawings and Superintendent and quality assurance of earthwork projects for major geotechnical, civil, oil and gas, land development and mining projects across Australia.

Aaron has specialist experience in the design of compacted clay and geosynthetic liners for landfills, mining and liquid storage containment systems, alternative specifications for waste facilities, construction quality assurance, forensic investigations for damaged liners and the use of electrical liner integrity testing.  His key strength is working with contractors, owners, project teams and regulators to achieve practical and successful project outcomes.

Aaron is the past Chairman of the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) SA/NT Chapter, member of the Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA), member of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) – Australasian Chapter and Member of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia WA (IPWEA).

What Aaron is working on…

Aaron oversees our field work which includes site investigations, surface and groundwater monitoring, construction project management and construction quality assurance.

When he isn’t being an Engineer…

Aaron is a devoted family man with two young children and is heavily involved in the coaching and administration of junior soccer.  In his spare time he enjoys camping, photography and cooking a good old Aussie BBQ.

Daniel O’Sullivan

About Daniel…..

Daniel completed a bachelor degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a minor in indigenous studies from the Queensland University of Technology. Daniel joined the company as an Environmental Engineer in August 2015 to provide support across a range of landfill and waste management projects.daniel

Daniel’s environmental experience includes the preparation of Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Impact Assessments, the Review of Environmental Factors, other associated environmental documentation and environmental field work.

Daniel is also an experienced onsite Civil Engineer, overseeing landfill construction projects and construction quality assurance of environmental barrier systems. Daniel has experience in verification of all aspects of civil engineering including, geotechnical, bridges, concrete and road pavements.

What Daniel is working on…

Daniel spends most of his time in the field overseeing construction projects, conducting construction quality assurance, groundwater monitoring and site investigations.

When he isn’t being an Engineer…

Daniel enjoys the company of good friends, keeping fit and fishing along the coast of Western Australia.

Stefan Berger

About Stefan…

Stefan holds a Bachelor in Environmental Systems Engineering and a Bachelor in Philosophy, both from the University of Western Australia. He joined the company in a graduate role in February 2015 to gain experience and provides support across a wide range of landfill and waste management projects. He brings with him a solid background in safe work practices, data collection and analysis, and scientific communication from his time at university and via his former position as Technical Assistant at CSIRO (Plant Industries).

Stefan is a member of Engineers’ Australia and was the Environmental Engineering Representative for the University Engineers’ Club during the penultimate year of his study.

What Stefan is working on…

Stefan prepares waste management plans for multi storey commercial and residential complexes being developed across the Perth metropolitan region, prepares documentation for works approvals and planning approvals for waste facility development and undertakes groundwater monitoring and construction quality assurance regimes.

When he isn’t being an Engineer…

Stefan enjoys music and working as a disc jockey in Perth hotels and clubs as well as volunteering as a radio disc jockey for RTR FM community radio.
